the design shows a reciprocating mass.
but won't the reciprocating mass get hit by the spring? thereby slowing them down?
if the moving mass doesn't reciprocate freely. It might not be as effective.
the original design has a free reciprocating mass.
I measure total weight. and weight of reciprocating mass
just an opinion.
Yup, the original design has a free reciprocating mass but the weights only travel at a very short distance thereby limiting the momentum created by the weights. With this design, the weights can travel up to almost 0.7 of an inch. With almost the same reciprocating weight as a H2 or H3, it can create a bit heavier momentum. although the weights touches the buffer spring during cycling, it can move freely. the edges of the weights are rounded off a bit to prevent snagging on the spring.
