My "perfected" All-Purpose hybrid sling setup
I have just about perfected my sling situation, I think. I'd be happy to have any input.
I liked the MS2/ASAP from Magpul. When I got it, however, I found the thin webbing distracting and the somewhat fussy slider adjustment just wasn't quite right.
Enter the Emdom Gunslinger.
This is a nice setup but I'm not personally a fan of the webbing attached directly right to the rifle. (although that is not the only way Emdom intends it to be used.)
So, I took this sling, which is similar in concept and added MS2 style hardware (procured on ebay, etc). I also set this particular rifle up with a SLAP Plate from "I Kick Hippies"
I have to say I am satisfied with it so far … best of both worlds and does not seem to have any real compromise to get there (unless you like bungee single points). The added width of the seatbelt webbing make is more comfortable over long periods.
I will probably remove the fastex buckle at the rear attach point and change it out to a
single length with the snap shackle like the MS2.
I think the blending of the 2 systems is fantastic. The cost came to about $75 bucks for the sling, $20 for the SLAP. A bit more than an MS2/ASAP retail, but definitely not the gazillion they go for on ebay.
Emdom … maybe you could add this as the Gunslinger RB (as in: root beer) :)
