Trident,
Thanks for the compliments.
For me, the biggest issue with the Accupoint was getting used to the eye relief at 1x. I find that I'm faster and more efficient with an RDS instead of the TR24. For what I'm running this rifle for (within 300m at my local range and classes) having the variable magnification wasn't of much use. I found that the only time I had it magnified was when I took it to a KD range and shot iron maidens at 400m and 500m.
Another reason for the swap is because my unit run EOTech's (I know, I know...) and for me the additional familiarization and practice with "that" reticle transfers over to my service rifle.
Finally, one of the big selling points of the SR-15 over the other rifles I was considering is its light weight and balance. Given I'm a Gun Team Leader, it sounds a little weird that I'd complain about weight, but since one of the main reasons I bought the KAC was to exploit its light weight, I feel that the Accupoint w/ ADM mount wasn't doing the rile justice because of how unbalanced and "rear heavy" it felt with it mounted.
The Accupoint is a GREAT optic, no doubt, just not for me with this rile. I look at the SR-15 as more of a battle rifle and not a match rifle, so for what I do with it, I'm more than happy just running an RDS.
