Better chromelined barrels for M193?
Sorry if this thread had been taken before. I did some search already, and found some hints. However, they were non-specific.
How big or small are your groups of mil-surplus M193 on chromelined (CL) barrels at 50- or 100-yards?
I have a BCM 1/8 SS410 which groups them at around 2 MOA at 50 yards.
My friend has a BM M4 barrel 1/9 which has around 3-4 MOA, while my new Daniel Defense midlength 1/7 is doing 4 MOA.
Our SHTF (and civilization breakdown :)) ammo stash is limited to 'old' mil-surplus 55-grain M193 (Lake City, Winchester, etc).
I'm looking for your experiences for CL barrels -- BCM, Colt, RRA, LMT, Armalite, STAG, BM, CMMG etc; using M193s.
I have read some enlightening threads on twist (1/9 vs 1/7) comparison as well as match vs 5.56 chambers.
Bottomline : I'm trying to look for a CL barrel (carbine or preferably midlength that would withstand a 1,000-rd 'carbine training class/session' and yet has a 1-2 MOA groups using M193 at 200 yards).
