Also, will they make a straight 12" Omega X, without the FSB cutout?
Call them and ask.
Better to get an answer straight from the horses mouth instead of random interweb speculation.
I was told yes on a 9.0, but a time frame wasn't available at the time. I'd fully expect to see them offer all of their standard rail options in the X series in the future.
I thought it wasn't advisable to use lo-pro gas blocks under the omega series rails because the internal dimensions were too small and when the rail flexed it would touch the gas block. I wonder if its the same with the omega x.
Sorry for the clutter... what's the difference in the Omega X series and the Omega series?
Different barrel nuts.
The Omega rail uses the stock barrel nut and delta ring assembly.
The Omega X rails use a DD lite style barrel nut (it might be the same).
I would have been interested in an Omega 12" with FSB cutout, but the draw for me to the Omega is not having to remove the barrel or delta ring. I'll stick with the Troy MRF-CX. It's easier to cut off a delta ring than to remove the barrel.
Ideally, I wish there were a middy version of the Omega X FSP...say a 14" model that allowed you to mount a light in front of the FSB of a middy.
