Overly tight takedown pin?
eternal24k's thread about having to fit his new 7.62 upper and lower got me to thinking...
I just finished rebuilding my 9mm carbine (RRA upper). Among other things, it got a new dedicated 9mm lower from Nodak Spud to replace the original RRA lower which went to another build.
The pivot pin is tight enough to require using a non-marring drift to open and taps with a rubber mallet to close, and I'm OK with that. However, the takedown pin is even tighter, requiring a smack with the mallet to seat the last fraction of an inch and a drift to open.
Is this tolerable, and will a pin this tight shoot in? I'd ideally like to see it be able to be opened without a mallet, just a non-marring drift.
