These will be available with a sound suppressor as an option, to provide for officer hearing protection. The enhanced carrier is supposed to be better with a suppressor and will allow for reliable cycling without suppression.
My plan is to be able to serve LE agencies as manufacturer-direct-to-agency for training ammunition, patrol rifles, silencers, as well as offer service/maintenance packages for weapons in general. We make ammo, AR variants, and suppressors so they can buy everything from one place but have the service and support they need to keep things running. For the local market we can act as their armory in case they have a weapon that needs to be worked on we can swap the upper out or complete weapon depending on the issue, and not let them be down that one rifle since these agencies have limited budgets to begin with. We are trying to offer them a better weapon for an affordable price with service and support to back it up; service they don't get from ABCD companies (Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt, DPMS). We will have leasing program options as well as outright purchase.
The specs herein are on the table and need to be proven (ie we will be shooting the sh** out of these guns) so things can and will probably change. We will be testing our ideal version and seeing if it holds up. If not or if we see it meets our demands, but can be improved, we will address it and continue to improve it.

I use the LMT enhanced BCG with about 2200-2300 rounds so far I have been pleased with it. But you do realize that the enhanced BCG is advertised to work with a carbine gas system. I do not know how it would work in a midlength gas system with a 14.5'' barrel may have to adjust the gas port size.
I know Grant was working on a 16'' midlength with enhanced bcg But I have not seen any posted info of it yet.

Yes, which is why I'm testing it. If I can make it run reliably, that's what I'm going with. I'm being very optimistic about the 2011 SHOT debut and realize it can take longer.

If the emphasis is for engagments inside of 50yds and you aren't using a VFG why a rail system at all?
You mention a desire to keep the rifle minimal, so I might would consider a FSB mount along the lines of Midwest Industries with a Surefire X300 mounted. Or a G2/6P in a Vltor Scout Mount attached to the MI FSB Mount.
Just my thoughts though....

That's what I'm trying to figure out too. IMO a patrol rifle/carbine should have a white light. Mounting options are rail system or something integral to the HGs. I'll have to look what's on the market. I think it's silly to get a whole rail system to mount just a white light and have rail panels covering up 95% of the rails. I see there are the half and half HGs but those look gay. I'll have to snoop around at SHOT and see what I can come up with. I have a place in my heart for MI stuff because I'm from WI, but I'm open to anyone except ARMS.

I suspect Magpul will have their midlength MOE stock on display at SHOT.

That's the rumor I hear on Silencertalk.

I believe a DD7.0 light rail is lighter (8.5 oz) Vs Colt M4 double heat shield hand guards 9.3 oz. An MI FBS light mount, is a cheaper option if you don't plan on using a VFG, light or laser to mount on a rail.

Did some looking around and the Magpul MOE handguard might work well. I can put a rail section on the underside front and get the result I'm looking for.
