Define disposable?
I know it seems like an odd question but i would like get a better understanding of what the military considers disposable.

Again, I will go back to my general opinion that for the masses "sound reduction is good". If it is not great, but is still much better than no can at all then I can see a market for them. I saw the disposible part too, but IMHO disposible to a 12.5" 5.56 going through a carbine class would probable be a lifetime to a bolt-gunner.
I should say it just so people can see where I am coming from as a consumer. I personally am more interested in the lighter compact units with less than optimul sound reduction for a rifle, but will go all out to buy the "best"(whatever that may be at the time) for a pistol can. My current cans were bought before I took the time to research so they are not ideal for me in any way. I have a YHM stainless phantom and a YHM .45 cobra. If I was to do it over I would buy that nifty super short Ops inc can, and a Ti-rant. In fact a TI-rant or the Osprey will be my next can, the only thing I can say is a nice benifit of the Phantom is that I can get a PWS mount for it(will be purchasing soon).
Anyone got any updates on these units?
If my suspicions are correct, VLTOR copied the features of the European $300 cans (and this is a good thing), and this should be successful with C3 recreational shooters on a budget, and LE agencies that can justify adding longer cans. Not sure beyond that, but if sound reduction is above 27dB, they'll sell.
Just look at the OPS M4-S. Intended for LE organizations, priced the same. It's much shorter, but you're also looking at less sound/flash reduction.
I think when VLTOR comes out with a shorter version of this, that one will be the real hit.
still gonna buy one.
I have always heard you get what you pay for. I think it is a great idea of having a $300 can BUT think about it for a minute. You are going to pay $200 and wait 4 months for this can. I would just rather buy once cry once and have a quality can in my hands after the 4 month wait and $200 tax. JMI
I would rather spend half and get something that works...
I really dont care about 1-2 DB's between cans. I simply want an affordable suppressor that is QD and works "well enough".
Im not usually the type to buy into the "works well enough" ethos but when it comes to suppressors i cant justify laying out 800-1300 bones for one.
I'm looking at mine right now and it looks like the exposed barrel is shorter than the collar in that pic... but I mean juuuuuust shorter.
I suppose it could also be an optical illusion though, straight plain barrel vs. the teeth and all that... or they could have a slightly shorter one if possible.
