Can anyone give me a lead on a quality set of roll pin punches. I'm having trouble wading through all the crap google brings up.
Thanks

adco & brownells to name just two.
I use brownells been good for me.
Craftsman makes a good set for a decent price. Here's the link...

Thanks for the help guys. Follow up question here, what size would I use to remove the factory front sling swivel on my 6920, 1/16?
Based on the pics from both Brownells and the Craftsman ones, I would buy the Brownells. The protruding pin is much more pronounced and likely to do its thing on the Brownells ones.
I bought the Brownells ones several years ago. They work great.
Been using the Brownells ones for years. I like them.
Yeah brownells seems to be the consensus; just backordered some thanks for the input gentlemen.
Bad info in this thread. The entire side mount sling swivel assembly uses 2 ROLL PINS, not rivets. You only need to remove 1 of them to remove the mount from the barrel. 1/8" (No. 4) roll pin punch works best. The swivel piece itself attaches to the rest of the mount assembly by use of a rivet, but there is no point in removing just the swivel.
You are wrong. Re-read my post, I edited for clarity.
ETA: Colt 6920 uses side swivel mount, not bottom mount you are thinking of.
RIVET:

ROLL PINS:

So as you can see, removing the rivet will only remove the swivel from the rest of the mount, pretty pointless. You want to remove the entire mount assembly from the rifle by removing one of the 2 roll pins, once one comes out the assembly will open up and can be removed from the barrel.
Wow thanks alot for the info and pics. That's exactly what I needed to know. I had the front sling mount reversed on my service rifle when the weapons truck came to our range one day but I couldn't see what they were doing. I assumed that's all you had to do just by looking at the mount but wanted to make sure before I split open a roll pin and/or jacked up a bunch of stuff. Thanks again
