Are they top notch? There mono uppers look nice and people talk about them on other forums. I am not clear on how they stack against other top tier companies.
thx

moderator, did not realize this was in the optic section. could you please move to the general ar section?
thx
mega is good to go.. i've used a number of their uppers and lowers, always righteous. it's pretty hard to screw up uppers and lowers, though.
i've got a boner for the new monorail.. i'd order without hesitation if i was in the market. and nows the time to order, before they jack the price up.
They're good. Not a very big company, but they make a fine product.
ok thanks for the replies. would love that mono!!!!
I like Mega products. Thanks to this thread I stumbled onto the monorail. That d@mn bug has bitten me hard. I need one for my 6.8 project...
I meet the owner while they were here for the shot show. Good people. They are also making an adj trigger. But their quality is good. I have one of there first lower runs on my SBR and it works great. I mean it is hard to mess up a lower but I like them and their customer service is great.
I have only assembled three AR lowers in my whole life , so take for what's it's worth.
The Mega was very smooth "build " -- parts seemed to go in with just the right amount of pressure. The mag well seems perfect , not too tight , not too loose.
A sample of one, but my build using a Mega lower and Noveske upper went just fine. Lower parts fit fine, mags including Magpul drop free, color matches upper (how can you screw up black?), small amount of play between upper and lower, no issues.
Plenty good.

The nice thing about Maga uppers and lowers, there is no slop. Atleast the ones I've used were tight.
I just got one of their new billet lowers and it is absolutely beautiful. I love it.
MEGA manufactures probably one of the finest lower receivers on the market. The attention to detail is amazing. One example is that every lower I have built on always has that flat 90 degree spine where the grip covers it (backside of receiver beneath buffer tube threads). MEGA actually takes the time to machine it to go with the contour of the lower. Their magwells are great, and the overall quality of the many Gators I have built on is amazing. I use their uppers as well.
I guess I should mention that it is their GATOR I am referring to!
The only issue I've ever had with Mega was lack of T-marks on the upper, but ultimately it's just a cosmetic thing for me because I don't use them. Never stopped me from building with one of their uppers.
I've got a preproduction model midlength, its nice. I wrote up an article for Military Times that talks about the new MTS-300, it might be of interest to you if you are looking for Mega info.

beautiful
Thanks!
Just when my patience was beginning to wane. I emailed Rainier asking about a weight comparison to the billet upper w/DDLite10 vs MTS-300 a while back with no answer. No mention about weight in your write up Stickman, could you post your feeling concerning the weight?
Great pics BTW
I just placed my order with Rainier for the middie mono. My 6.8 build can really get off the ground now.
