$100 lower doesn't inspire alot of confidence.
You should be spending atleast $175 for a stripped lower.
You also need to check a lower for magazine fitment to make sure they will drop free before you buy it and if you order it off the internet, there is no way you can do that. I've learned my lesson on that more than once.
What are you trying to build?
I have never heard anything about delaware machine lowers so i can't comment on them. I will say that once you add in shipping and transfer it is still usually cheaper or at least the same price if you buy local. My one local shop has stripped stag lowers for $99.99 and stripped armalite lowers for $150.00. I think that spending at least $175.00 for a stripped lower assuming you don't include any taxes etc. is a bit steep.
Sorry, i personally don't know anything about the Delaware Tool & Machine Company. However, I did read on another forum that the Delaware lowers were originally made for Sharps Rifle Company. Something happened between Sharps and Delaware, a contract was breeched, and Delaware was stuck with ~20,000 receivers. How true that is, I do not know.
Not a ton of stuff found on the Google about the Delaware lowers. What I did find was for the most part folks were happy with the lowers, and tolerances were good. I did, however, read about a fwe mag release button holes that were off/outof spec.
From the AR15armory forum:

What can you tell me about the Delaware Machine lowers? I am considering buying several, but have heard there are issues with tight tolerances...I don't want something that I have to re-work a lot. What did you build from the lower? And did you have any problems with fit? What components did you go with if problems did not exist?
That's the guts of the Delaware info. You can view the entire thread about the Sharps lower here: http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/Sha...er-t70684.htmlQuote:
I built copule of different configurations. I used the sharps receivers on all. I had absolutely no problems building. I used both the regular and stainless trigger groups from AIM Surplus.
and also a DPMS trigger group. I used various m4 type stocks and 2 different A2 stocks. The fir was perfect on all accounts. It was hard for me to beleive, since everything I do does not go together w/o problems. I have 2 Bushmaster uppers an E3 and an A2. They fit better on the sharps lowers than on the Bushmaster lowers. It's really quite amazing. The receivers are even finished better than the Bushmasters. You have to get really close to see that it is not a Bushmaster lower. I highly recommend them. I relly like the way they look and fit. I have purchased many of them. And at $55.00 from R-guns, that is not to bad. My FFl charges $20.00 for the first and $10.00 for any additional. Alot of people have problems with R-Guns or the gruffness on the phone. i personally did not have any problem with them. I also kind of like the roll marks on the lowers.
So, I did not have any problems with fit or tight tolerences. They went together beautifully. That is my adventure with them. good luck in your build.
I hope that helps you.
And I think paying $175 is borderline ludicrous for a stripped lower. scottryan may have a money tree in his back yard, but I certainly don't! I'm just kidding with you, scottryan. But I do think $175 is unecessarily expensive, unless you're talking billet.
Stripped lowers tend to sell for $120-$130 in shops around my neck of the woods. That price range covers a variety of brands. You can find some great deals around the web and through group buys, but I chose to buy stripped lowers locally to 1) minimize hassle, and 2) support my local shop.
Check these guys out,,I have built 3 ARs with the Lowers from LRB,,great lowers,,all went together great & the price is good for a quality piece !

Not to be argumentative, but cost isn't necessarily indicative of quality. A mil-spec lower is a mil-spec lower (provided that mil-spec is indeed referring to true mil-spec).
Noveske 2nds blemished lowers commonly sell for $150, not to mention that Noveske was recently simply giving them away for free.
I understand the idea behind your statement, but I don't think that cost directly related to quality when it comes to lowers.
