I do not own an HK 416 so I can not say for sure, but the rails on the dedicated piston guns may be a little taller to accomadate the piston system so the mount needs to be shorter to achieve the same co-witness. Now as for the 3xMag, the guys are right and you can adjust it to center your dot. As for the mount...if you bought it directly from LaRue, call them and explain the situation (you are using a DI gas gun, right) and MAYBE they can work a switch for an LT-660 mount. Give it a try. Also, move your H-1 mount to the muzzle end of your upper and see if the perspective improves as their combination shows it mounted at the end of the rail on the upper. I know you probably have but check and see if your pivot mount is indeed a SHORT mount (the default one to order in the drop down box on their site is the TALL one)! Good luck!
