6920 nib $995.00 (Less than a year ago)
When I started this thread, my intent was to see the best deal each individual has gotten, be it a factory new, or full build rifle; either built up by yourself or someone else. I stated "Full build" because I didn't want to see guys putting every single peice of gear up here and what they paid for it ( I imagined getting thousands of hits from guys who got a deal on X gear for X dollars, and that would be a huge waste of time thread; rather just "whole" rifle, wether you bought the parts from 1500 different manufacturers or one, and built it yourself or had someone else build it...). Just a complete rifle be it built by yourself/someone else or factory new...
Again this thread was an attempt to educate those who have yet to buy a rifle and get into this world too deep; to help them see you don't have to spend $2,000.00 for a top shelf weapons system. That way they wouldn't just buy the most expensive gun they could find because "Dan-o gun seller" tells them they have to spend at least X amount of dollars or they get a crap platform. So by all means if you took the time to hunt for cheap but good parts and built a Franken-LWRC for $500.00 bucks, post the sucker!!!!!!!! Let the guys looking to buy a rifle see how good of a deal they can get with a bit of knowledge and patience.
I always hear sellers at gun shows telling the noobs what "They need"; and no surprise it is always the most expensive and/or least quality item on there tables. Just trying to open some eyes. I know when I first went out to buy an AR, I was green as hell; if I wouldn't have been a patient man (two years of research before I was comfortable/knowledgable enough to move forward) and needed to be well informed before my purchase; I more than likely would have ended up with a $1,200.00 Oly arms piece of crap with a DPMS lower/LPK (Wanted an AR type rifle so badly I almost ignored my better judgement and bought this very rifle at Tanner; very glad I did not!) that wouldn't have lasted me much more than a month or so with the way I shoot (lot's and hard) I've seen this scenario too many times, even a family member didn't take my advice and bought the aforementioned POS and he is still pissed that he didn't wait and bought an inferior platform for an inflated price tag!!! Don't want that to happen to other folks. This is a small attempt to help out somehow. Hope it works/helps!
Hope that clears things up regarding what is allowed to be posted in this thread.

$850 for a 14.5" LMT Defender
Back in 1988 I got a NIB Colt AR15A2 HBAR for about $750. In October 1994 I sold it to someone for $3000 and purchased 4 or 5 more handguns.
This doesn't count but my dad is willing to sell me his TA31F in LT mount for $600 if I manage to sell my H-1...
Sucks because I'd have to ditch my DD sights for flipups, costing me more money...
1st AR was a brand new M16A1 NIB (still had the preservative on it) cost me three years of sun, sand, and heat plus one combat tour.
2nd AR was a M16A2 NIB in exchange for another four years of sun, sand, and heat (gotta love the West Texas desert and the Arabian peninsula).
3rd deal was a package deal that I couldn't walk away from. One NIB M4 with M68 and 12 GI mags. One NIB M9 with five mags and CT grips (kept those). Unlimited supply of 5.56mm and 9x19mm rounds and a private one way range to practice on. Cost me one year in Iraq with unlimited use of a two way rifle range.
I'm hoping to get a really smoking deal on my next AR.
My DDMV4 v2 was 1100...
2010.... first AR...
Could have had a DPMS panther for 800...
My bro in law has a arma lite 308 for $1000.
