Good luck, Doc.
Sorry for lack of follow up on this. I finally did get around to purchasing the rifle from my client. The rifle was not an M-16 as she had told me that it was. In fact it wasn't even an AR-15. The rifle turned out to be an Inland M-1 carbine, to which somebody had put a Plainfield paratrooper stock on. I did end up purchasing the carbine, plus a Chinese SKS, from my client for 350 dollars. Then she gave me a nice glass front gun cabinet, and probably a thousand round of mixed ammo for the carbine, SKS, and also a bunch of 9mm, 45acp, etc. To that I also got a couple cleaning kits, hearing protectors, and some extra magazines for the carbine. Yesterday she gave me (yes, gave me) a Ruger 10/22 with a scope mounted on it, 2 magazines and 3000+ rounds of ammo. She didn't want them. Nice.
I ended up replacing the Plainfield stock with an original GI paratrooper stock I had in storage, so now it's at least looks original.
A bummer that it wasn't an M-16, but all that for 350, I guess isn't bad.
I'm still looking for that M-16.
Yeah I got a great deal on considering what I have vs what I paid. However, still looking for an M-16.
The stock is one of those telescoping types, not the folder. It has no identification on it whatsoever, but I've matched it to the Plainfields. The button on it works great, it doesn't slip when you bring the wire stock out, but to me I have no interest in it.
Well crappers, I had my fingers crossed for you Doc.
