Wow, you sure took what I said pretty hard. First of all, The "every direction" comment was a small exagerration. Not to be taken literally. Second, what the hell does "properly blackened" mean? Brand new should be properly black.
There is a glare if the sun is anywhere behind you. The concave acts as a light collector and takes away the sharpness of the sight picture. I have yet to find a black flat enough to absorb all light. Fuzzy is not good no matter how slight. We are dealing with lethal force and for it to be applied properly and safely, fuzzy in any form should be eliminated whenever possible.
I never bothered buying glass for an AR. I have lived with irons just fine. This issue is my pet peeve.
