Doesn't everyone have two or three? If not you should.
Noveske's been at the very top of my wantlist for years. I'm waiting for the model I want to get replenished so I can Add To Cart.
I truly do NOT mean to blow your face off here, but an affinity for quality hardware is not an addiction, a disease, or an -ism. Terms like these, while often popular elsewhere, carry a negative connotation that we can probably do without as a community.
I realize that might seem much ado about nothing, but I just don't want to give any more ammunition to the anti-gun lunatic fringe than we have to. I don't own modern autoloaders because I am sick: I own them because it is my right under the law, and I appreciate refined, capable fighting tools in the hands of free men.
Now, does pride in ownership mean something of particular significance to a Noveske customer? Absolutely. What's not to like about premium components, selected by a master riflesmith and assembled under competent hands?
There are any number of excellent choices on the market these days, but I still think most would agree that John's barrels are something special. If you are prone to believe, as I am, that the barrel is the heart of the weapon, then any investment in an N4 is money well spent. Very well spent. I don't own several, but I do value the ones I've got.

I love the N4!
I have two N4 barreled rifles, two Noveske stainless barreled rifles, and a BCM rifle. I don't know what that makes me, but I have a deep affection for each one of my blasters. ;)

I have a Light Recce w/VIS and I'm building a Noveske SBR. My N4 is a fine rifle, but I am always perplexed and even a little worried when a firearm is labeled as evoking love and addiction.
Very well said, Sir.
I purchased one for my dad as a gift a few years back, put an Aimpoint Comp M4 on it and called it a day. The barrel will last for the rest of his life (he shoots 300 rds per year, tops).
The Noveske N-4 is one of the finest chrome lined 5.56mm barrels on the market today.
Five. Everyone should have five Noveske N4 barrels.:D

Testing was done at 100 yards from a bench rest. A Leupold VARI-X III set at 25X magnification was used for sighting. I obtained three 10-shot groups using one of my standard hand-loads for 77 grain Sierra MatchKings. Those three groups measured as follows:
0.81
0.93
1.01
for an average 10-shot extreme spread of 0.92".
These three groups were over-layed on each other using the RSI Shooting Lab software program to obtain a 30-shot composite group. The mean radius for this composite group measured 0.28. Heres a pic of the best 10-shot group of the 77 grain MatchKings.

I performed an accuracy evaluation of my Noveske 16 N4 Light Recce upper following my usual protocol. Testing was performed from a distance of 100 yards. Firing was conducted from a concrete bench with the free-float handguard resting in a Sinclair Bench Rest. The rear stock of the rifle rested in a Protektor bunny-ear bag. Wind conditions were monitored using a Wind Probe. A Leupold VARI-X III set at 25X magnification and adjusted to be parallax free at 100 yards was used for sighting.
Using hand-loaded, match grade ammunition I fired three, 10-shot groups in a row. The extreme spreads of those groups measured:
1.29
1.18
1.31
for a 10-shot average extreme spread of 1.26. I over-layed those three groups on each other using RSI Shooting Lab to form a 30-shot composite group. The mean radius for the composite group was 0.37.
After firing the above three groups, I fired an additional five, 10-shot groups in a row using the same set-up for a total of eight, 10-shot groups. The average extreme spread for all eight groups was 1.2. I over-layed all eight groups on each using RSI Shooting Lab to form an 80-shot composite group. The mean radius for that composite group was 0.39.

The 14.5 N4 light barrel was tested in the same manner as described above. Three 10-shot groups fired from 100 yards using match grade hand-loads had extreme spreads of:
1.029
1.360
1.275
for a 10-shot group average of 1.22. As above, I over-layed the three 10-shot groups on each other using RSI Shooting lab to form a 30-shot composite group. The mean radius for that composite group was 0.37.

Using hand-loaded Sierra 55 grain BlitzKings, as a control load, this barrel turned in a 10-shot group with an extreme spread of 0.726" from the bench-rest at 100 yards.. Thats not too shabby for an AR-15 with a barrel that has a chamber that was developed to fire MK262 Mod 1 on AUTO in hot environments." For the Internet Commandos in our viewing audience, I also fired a 3-shot group at 100 yards. It had an extreme spread of 0.175".

Additional accuracy testing using the 20 Noveske barreled AR-15 and Nosler 77 grain BTHP at a muzzle velocity of 2800 fps was conducted in the same manner as described previously Three 10-shot groups were obtained from 100 yards. Those groups had extreme spreads of:
0.880
0.857
0.845
for a 10-shot group average of 0.860. These groups were over-layed on each other using RSI Shooting Lab to form a 30-shot composite group which had a mean radius of 0.29.

Ill be adding the results for a 14.5 Noveske Afghan in the future.

I would love to have more, but I just cant afford it with my other expensive hobby, fast cars.

I've got a 10.5" Mk18 clone with a Noveske N4 Light barrel that Joel built for me - I can't say enough good things about it. All my Noveske lowers are top notch as well...great quality, and one of the few manufacturers to have a decent roll mark!
I have a noveske Lower....Does that kinda count??
I have their lower on my Addax custom upper!

I'm hoping for a REAL N4 with next year's tax refund!
I'm up to four. 2 Pistols (7.5" 6.8 Diplomat & 10.5" -5.56) and 2 Mid Recce's, with a 5th lower standing by for a future build.;)
Love mine.....

Although it isn't widely-discussed, I particularly appreciate that NRW will give you the option of an N4 registered as a factory SBR. Obviously, the law requires that they be the actual builder in order to do this, so if you're starting with a stripped NRW receiver, you're going to need to send it back to them to complete, if you want to go this route. Still, if you're looking to do a Form 4 transfer, and not a Form 1 with the extra engraving, etc., this is an infinitely more convenient approach.

Groups are great, poly-woly rifling is impressive. I like my Recce because I got it so dusty and dirty I had to hose it down in the sink before I cleaned it for real.
The SHTF Standard Number One Rule is, "One is none and two is one!" I think john Noveske came up with that Rule. But you've got to get your Wife to buy into it first.
My Wife bought into it :D so I have two Noveske's - N4 Recce Basic and an N4 Afghan Basic. I have never enjoyed a firearm more than I have enjoyed my first Noveske.
As for rifles this is true for me. The rifle just simply performed better than I expected and fit and finish were beautiful. Coming from a FAL is a beater rifle and my pre-64 Win Mod 70 rifles were art work "for work" rifles the Noveske exceeded my expectations and I trusted it and it was alot of fun. It just made shooting an affordable joy for me again. Their customer service also made me love shooting again after dealing with S&W, FN and Browning's BS customer service. I'm loyal to companies that make a quality product and go above and beyond to be helpful and that is Noveske. Screw rollmarks, brand names and all that crap. Noveskes are quality, detail is excellent and customer service is excellent... what else do you need?
Shari is hot:p
6.8 Rogue on the left, 14.5 in the middle, 16" Recce on the right.
my next one will be a SBR with the same rollmark. Its hard to walk away from quality :neo:

I have 2 rifles, both N4s and an Afghan I'm paying off will be my 3rd
2 N4 light basics here an working on another one, possibly a 16" Rogue Hunter or a switchblock. decisions, decisions...
maybe after obama gives me my bailout money I can buy one :D
I appreciate Noveske's products... and therefore have a few... SBR, 14.5's, and 16" N4's.
Probably more than I need...
But less than I want...
Weight difference between 14.5 Afghan bbl vs 14.5 N4 Light bbl?
I'll just call Shari, thanks
