I thought I'd give it a try. I started by putting a little epoxy inside the handle and used a drum sander to the top to match the contour of the rail. I used small screws to replace the "nubbins" that I ground off to keep it solid. It worked like a champ.

Do you have any pictures from the business end of the rifle?
I have since abandoned this project as I found a handstop from Impact Weapon Components that fit the bill perfectly for me. This still might be a viable option for those who want a little more meat than just a handstop to pull back against.

I didn't find this thread until after I did it, but I also thought about melting the "wings". All said and done, it doesn't need it. It's very solid and doesn't look bad at all. I could have trimmed more, but it looked ok like this. I'm going to fab my own out of aluminum soon, i'll have to remember to take pics.
