The Bushnell 3200 elite is a great scope for the money. It's low on features which help keep the price down. The optics are very nice and the the adjustments offer great repeatability. For a range gun it's way more than adequate. Good luck.
You can learn on your Bushnell and start saving up for the Nightforce 2.5-10x32 in a LT SPR mount. That is an excellent scope. I would personally get the Nightforce 3.5-15x for myself, as my eyes require more magnification than other people seem to.
I recently built an AR using this same combo. My first long range outing with it was this past weekend. After zeroing it, I shot 100 Yards-500 Yards in a money match. I didn't win anything, there were far more skilled shooters (with their rifles anyway) than I... but I did learn it is a viable scope and base for an AR. BTW, I placed 3rd in the 400 yard portion, using M-883 ammo. Had I used match grade ammo, I am sure I would have done much better.Quote:

Good thinking about the ammo. I see no reason why you shouldn't shoot better than 1" at 100 with that AR and scope, provided it's mounted well.
However your current mount is too far rear in the rings. If that's indeed the correct eye relief for you, you may need a different mounting set-up.
I was in your same position, CC4me. I have an 18" SPR upper from BCM (great upper, by the way) and wanted to shoot at the same distances you did.
Based on the recommendations of a lot of people at sniper's hide, as well as contacting swfa and asking them, there was an overwhelming amount of positive response and suggestions for the SWFA SS brand/series of scopes.
They are front focal plane, the glass is particularly clear, and is a mil-dot reticle. I would highly suggest them, or at the least looking into them for consideration.
There are a lot of reviews for "SWFA SS review" if you google it, and you will come up with A LOT of very impressive reviews and endorsements from various people.
A great scope for the price, although of course if you can afford something as nice as a USO, Night Force, S&B, etc. then that's what I'd go with.
I'd suggest looking into BOBRO's offerings for scope mounts as well.
