If the Scar is on good condition it evens out in your favor.
It's a black one # 1 made. Don't known if that will mean anything.

Wait... the Scar is #1 or the DD? Does the serial number on an AR this new make any difference on the value? Asking because I really don't know the answer to this.
Didn't you just buy the DD at a gun show recently?
SCAR is like $2300 so it's a pretty even trade. If it was me though, I'd take the extra grand and get an aimpoint H1 on larue mount, 12:00 light setup, bad lever, sling, and some ammo for the DDM4 and shoot the hell out of it.
Quit chasing the green fairy and slow down. Shoot the DD and give it time to prove its value to you. Don't be a "mall ninja" and chase the next big thing just because!
Well I would keep the DD, use the 1k for a class and ammo.
Yeah i think I will. Anyone know of a class coming to dfw soon?
There is a Vickers Shooting Method approved instructor in Allen (I think). His name escapes me at the moment and I'm on my phone - but a search should turn him up.
I believe that the phrase "shooting the.........out of it" would be taken differently by different people who can afford more or less ammo.
You should step back and think, what will the SCAR do for you that the DD won't? If this is for training/plinking/etc, why convert to a SCAR when you hadnt even run the DD to its full potentail? If you want a SCAR because of its CDI factor, theres nothing wrong with that either. SCAR's can be had for like $1900.00 now but what does it do that the DD cant? The $1000 can be put towards training, ammo, a COLT 6920 so you can have another/or backup rifle. Which one fits your use better is what you need to ask yourself.
I would just keep the DD and invest in an aimpoint and ammunition/training and start shooting it. IMO, although a SCAR is a great rifle, I can't see how it is worth $1000 more than the DD.
Keep the DD, invest the 1K on ammo, training and quality mags.
double tap
I think dieselgeek should be required to wear out that DD before he is allowed to buy something else. :D:D:p
Thanks I have an eotech. http://tapa.tk/mu/d036563a-9d97-2b7b.jpg
Regarding the Vickers class in CStat, It's full, as is the handgun course.
You bought that DD for not much more than you got for your Bushmaster.
Trade the damn thing. Who cares if it's a cool "DD" rifle? Who cares if he's shot the shit out of it? Who cares if he hasn't used it to it's full potential (in your opinion).
The SCAR is worth more and if you want it, grab it.
The OP wants to know if the trade is worth it value-wise, not what you'd rather have...
Did u see the part where he has to put up an extra G for the trade? Value-wise its not really a deal. But yeah, if ya want it get it
Oh I totally missed that part.
I wouldn't do it unless it was for an ACR basic.
No, I wouldn't give up my only AR.
Disregard everything else I said in the last post I made.
lol, yeah.....its still an interesting trade option tho... I know i said earlier that i would just save up for the scar but the more a think about it i would probably be a little stuck like the OP
Good choice on keeping the DD. The bad thing about the scar is that parts are close to impossible to get. Whether you want to buy parts for back up or if your rifle actually breaks your pretty much sol. With an AR you can diagnose the problem and buy the part from one of 20 million sites online.....
so why would a guy with a scar want to go back to an ar, unless he realized he mad a mistake and should have kept his ar.
after all isnt the scar the holy grail of millitary weapons?
i dont think so but alot of people seem to thimk so.
