If the rifle only exhibits potential failures at 1k rounds/day, how does this relate to any realisitc scenerios for actual usage defensively or offensively?????
Many veterans of Vietnam state they were lucky to put 20 rounds out of an M-16/day in the bush. Maybe a maximum of a few hundred rounds if the SHTF. My dad said his combat load was between 180 - 240 rounds in his kit. He rarely if ever used them all. Not many folks are carrying 1k rounds on them. Maybe 10, 30 rounders in your gear. They were not exposed to fire everyday and the engagements when they did occur where often rather brief. That begs the question of any relevance to the torture tests being described here. You are putting these rifles through a scenerio that has no relevance to real world events. I would go dump 3-4 mags through the rifle. If it functions flawlessly than you're gtg.
I say your rifle is fine already. Now if you want something built with superior methods with superior parts...then go buy it. You earned it!!!!

What does fighting with the gun, or frankly what does end-use at all, have to do with anything?
Regardless of application, if you think that you may, or know that you will, encounter situations with a firing schedule 300+, 500+, 1k+ rounds in a day then you're going to want a firearm that can do so without puking.
Or, if you're like most AR owners, and only fire 20 rounds slowfire from the bench twice a year, any old POS will likely do just fine. ;)

Everyone brings up some very good points. So I’m gonna chime back in with how this is all relevant to me….
1. I didn’t know of CMMGs reputation for “tight’ish” chambers until several years after I bought it.
2. I knew well enough to break in the rifle with my planned ammunition before I stocked up in quantity. I broke it in w/ 180 rounds of XM193 & 500 rounds of Wolf polymer.
3. The rifle ran flawlessly.
4. I bought 5k rounds of Wolf polymer back when I could get it for $150/1000.
5. I knew Wolf is inferior ammo, I knew well enough to buy Polymer vs. Lacquer.
6. I use Wolf exclusively for training purposes; I stash XM193 for anything else.
7. I became a professional M4carbine.net lurker while I had downtime during my mandatory vacation overseas.
8. I have yet to see a post on this forum about CMMG that didn’t include the words .223 chamber.
9. I figured I’d be preventative and start a debate about reaming vs. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
I really just want to know the Pros & Cons of chamber reaming. At this point if there are any Cons to reaming, I’ll probably upgrade to a new barrel. This is because, “I want my rifle to have zero Cons”.
The whole reason I decided to feed it 500 rounds when I get back is not to “torture” test it, but to give CMMG a fair shake. So far I have no complaints, I just want the peace of mind that my rifle will “run as well as it can” on Wolf. I know Wolf isn’t perfect, but I want to make sure I don‘t experience any “stuck casings”.
Thanks a lot.
