TOS is full of 'tards who don't know a good consistent trigger pull from dog turd.
I use them for the consistent trigger pull regardless as to whether or not it's a full auto lower.

I've never used them, but was thinking of installing them in my 6920. How are the KNS pins?
My point was that the protection against receiver wear is secondary to the protection against your gun going click, instead of bang. I have seen a few folk, running top notch kit, have their pins walk out of S/A weapons. So I consider them to be cheap insurance against BAD THINGS happening.
As for installing them, it's a cakewalk. They have a little guide you thread into one end and tap with a hammer. Quite simple.
Any opinions on the differences between the 1st and 2nd generation KNS pins? I've read conflicting info on the subject. Some say the 1st gen pins offer a better, more consistent trigger pull...some say the opposite. Just wondering if there's really any difference.
I have encountered the 1st gen pins that cracked, but still prefer them to the 2nd gen pins. I think it's the entire visual four screws thing. The 2nd gen pins have worked flawlessly for me. I also like the consistent trigger pull but also like the fact that it protects my lower receiver.
The second gen has a solid hammer pin and the "bars" on the outside of the receiver "float" on the end of the hammer pin.
This allows for a stronger hammer pin for 9mm lowers without ramped bolts, but it also allows both pins to "float" in relation to each other.
The first gen have two hollow pins.
The "dogbones" on the outside are screwed solidly to each pin.
Now the pins can't "float" in relation to EACH OTHER.
The pair of pins and the fire control components CAN move as a set, but the center-center distance of the two pins is basically locked in as long as the screws are tight.
That's why the 1st gen is a better choice if you are trying to help trigger consistency.
I have used the JP Enterprises hammer and trigger pins and have been nothing but happy with them.
I noticed an improvement immediately and have a very consistent pull on all of my ARs.
