pmags aint perfect, troys already have a couple key advantages over pmags. I own 40 something pmags also.

been stated already in this thread but:
they fit better in tighter rigs, fit in tighter spec lowers, flush floorplates, double stack more cleanly in rigs, includes both a pull tab or flat floorplate, grippier texture.
The biggest ones are they fit better in rigs. Ive had some double mag pouches that fit USGIs fine but suck when you try to put 2 pmags in.
Anyone what scope this is? Oh, and Botach has a deal on the Troy mags for 12 bucks each (gotta get the 3 pack though)

Got my two mags today. Not sure about the pull tab on the bottom though. To the range soon.
Got pair coming in soon, hopefully Monday, Tuesday at the latest. I am still debating on whether or not to see if one will fit in my FS2000.
PMags are great, but Magpul has made modifications and improvements to them over the years. If Troy wants to give it a try, I'll give them a fair shake; I like a lot of their other products. Hell, if innovation was stopped when something was "perfect" we would all still being using muskets!Quote:
Magpul called...
Said to quit trying to improve upon perfection.
P-MAGS ROCK!!!
Used one of my Troy mags at a competition today. Liked it better than I expected.
First: reliability was 100%. HOWEVER, it was only filled and used twice, so the sample size is teeny-tiny, and I don't consider this meaningful as to the real reliability of these mags. On the flip side it would have been a bad sign if I had had any issues.
More importantly: I am warming to the shape and design of this mag for how it pulls out of pouches and handles. The scales that I thought didn't cover enough area are actually in enough of the right spots that I hit at least some of them pulling the mag out of a pouch. I'm also liking the little rubber-tab thing that comes installed - not always useful, but no real downside I can see, and if you have 2 or 3 mags in one pouch it could help pulling them out individually (like a magpul, the rubber-strap-thingy, does).
I'm going to put these in my regular rotation and see how I feel about them in a few months, or if any problems crop up. I would definitely recommend getting a couple to test for anyone with a SCAR, ACR, HK416, other really tight magwell, etc., or anyone who just likes testing new mag designs.
They cost more than a windowed PMag but don't do anything significantly better so in cost benefit terms, there is no real benefit to the Troys. Now, if they were a third the cost Troy might have something but for now I'll stick with my mountain of upgraded G-Mags and my PMags.
I paid $13.95 each for two of them from AIM, free shipping. AIM sells window Pmags for $17.05 and non-window Pmags for $14.20, also free shipping. If I knew of better prices after shipping I would have bought elsewhere. So, for me, these are much less than window Pmags and 25 cents less than non-window Pmags. Are you seeing different prices?
