Clamp on gas blocks are popular with the target shooting crowd, much moreso than pinned gas blocks. Pinned ones are more popular with the hard shooting crowd. Neither like ones held on by screws. Reinstalling the FSB and trimming it down it's probably your best (and most cost effective) option.
The feed ramp setup shouldn't be a problem. The bullet doesn't ride up the feed ramp into the chamber; if it touches the feed ramp at all it's at the very top of the feed ramp and well past where the receiver cuts would be.
Have you shot for accuracy yet? I'm surprised to see a stainless barrel with the 204 slot.

I tend to avoid YHM products.......looks like your local shop sells plenty of them and promotes them. Better stuff can be had for the same money.
I would stick the FSB back on there.....but thats me.

In post #8 picture #7, is it me having optical delusions, or does it appear that flip up portion of the sight is goofy, not the gas block?
The sight tower looks canted at the point where the pivot pin goes crosswise through there, at least in relation to the yoke the tower sits in.
Well, to me anyway but my vision isn't all that acute anymore.

Just to add to my now very old thread, IV shot this rifle without any issues.i couldn't honestly tell you how many ends that is but its been lots of steel and some brass as well only issue I ever had is primer burn out backwards but not the rifles fault. As far as accuracy I hit what I shoot at but that's tanerite and cans and the like not really anything that could tell you a group size on and I'm not the greatest shot for my opinion to be anything to go by , but I'm very happy with it. Just wanted to follow up on the thread I'm more working on gathering up the parts to put together a palmetto state armory 308. Merry Christmas!
