I'd start with a better belt and holster for Carrie. Hard to say which one will fail first. That setup is more fashion than function. (Serpas on the other gals have to go, too.)

No surprises on their gun choices though. G19s and Sig 239s are leading choices with ladies.

Anyone else notice what appears to be a USMC sticker on the back of Carrie's car? Prior service, dependent spouse, etc?

Honestly, I've been using a Serpa for about 8 years now for daily carry, regular training and have had zero issues with it.

For me, it is the best option of all I have tried.

My brother carried a Serpa for two deployments with no issues. He got it after seeing mine and wanting to try it, after comparing it to other available holsters, he chose the Serpa.

I doubt very much that a criminal intent on getting a gun is going to approach someone directly and try and take it off them. Even still I'd bet that it's a lot easier than you think.

That said a smart criminal is going to pick a time and place of his choosing to initiate an attack. Broadcasting the fact that you have a firearm is kind of silly on a host of levels...especially when you don't even have a retention holster like the cops you mention.

Hate to burst your bubble but those individuals are typically on reserve duty or heading to and from the range. They aren't just walking around on a daily basis with their rifles.

Correct, that is usually how it happens when they take them from cops. So in both cases, and when driving a nice car in homietown, a little situational awareness is necessary. But it doesn't really change my original point that it is a valid option for various reasons.

I understand that, and I've actually been the Switzerland a few times. My point wasn't to suggest it is like Israel where everyone has a slung 16, my point was simply that nobody completely freaks out when they see it. Kinda like when my Dad and his brother would walk through town on a given Saturday during the 50s when they were kids, with slung battle rifles on their shoulder and a 1911 on their hip.

It's not that every single businessman they encountered downtown on the way to their "shootin' spot" also had a slung rifle, they didn't. It was the fact that none of those businessmen downtown associated anything negative to their weapons and the only comments made were along the lines of "You boys gonna do some shooting?" And I'd much prefer that environment to one where every businessman reaches for his phone and calls 911.
