I've been using the GGG XPS 2-0 in competition for the last couple of months.

It's solid and priced great, I like the accucam and lens covers. I would suggest it.

Thats what i like to hear...ha So just to confirm, it is a Quick detach mount that is NOT raised right? thats exactly what i want. I could care less about lower 1/3rd co-wit. The only time either of my Troy's are going up is if the optic goes down and if i have the time i will throw the lever and remove the EO. Also, EO's are kinda large already and i dont want to raise it any more than it is.
Have you shot with a raised one? The raised configuration is actually in a more natural position for most people. It lets you put your head in a more natural position and still get a sight picture. If you've tried it and it's not for you then by all means use what works best for you; I'm not trying to talk you into anything. If you haven't shot much with a raised/lower 1/3 height EOtech you might actually like it once you get used to it. I've used both quite a bit and ended up getting a riser for my XPS and then selling it altogether and getting an EXPS.
Interesting.....no i havent shot MUCH with with the lower 1/3 but i have a little....And yeah it felt fine but honestly for me the irons on an AR "seem" to be perfect. Maybe if i had more time on the lower 1/3rd i would really like it. The lower 1/3rd i have shot wasnt an EO either it was an AP Micro.
ETA: what i will do then is instead of just going all out and buying the EXPS i will just buy a riser to do some comparisons. I would think it would benefit me bc of my long neck lol
I buy a lot of stuff from Sportsmanguide.com . I notice that they have the 512.A65 for "$368.97"(Member's price). Do you all think that is about average or decent for the 512. I could buy it for my brother and have it shipped to him. They also have the XPS2-0 and XPS2-2 for "$431.97". Anyway, something to think about for him. Thanks. Mike...
IMO that's a pretty good price on that 512. I got mine for $385 from Optics Planet and it came with a scope coat and extra lithium AA's. That was a few months back...
Optics Planet wants $415 for their 512's. And the cover and hood aren't included. So for $50 less, I think sportsmansguide might currently be the cheapest. Thanks.
If cost were an object and I weren't going to go with and XPS or EXPS3 Eotech, I'd be looking hard at an Aimpoint PRO or an Aimpoint C3 instead of the 512. IMHO, relatively high likelihood of battery contact issues with the 512 if it's shot a lot.
Personally, I think the OPMOD is one of the best deals going on an upper-level RDS, although I do prefer a lower 1/3 co-witness, especially for the higher cheek weld it allows. Others may not want that 7mm riser.
The neoprene Scope Coat that Optics Planet usually includes is nice enough, but I'm not sure why anyone would need or want a scope cover on any of these sights.
Correct, the accucam feature doesn't raise the sight at all, it simply replaces the screw attachment with a QD lever.
FWIW I shoot mine with a fixed fsb and the absolute co witness doesn't bother me a bit.
I've actually found the opposite of what "mkmckinley" says in that when I use my irons I put my head in the same spot as when I'm using the optic. But like him I won't tell you that one setup is better than the other, I'll just tell which I prefer and why.
Now whether the fact that I use the same head position for irons or red dot is a cause or an affect of my optic being absolute co witness I couldn't tell you.
