A KX3 on a 12.5 is nothing but wasted money. Why not put something on there that will actually reduce flash and recoil?

why do you think that it is wasted money?
I wish Noveske would quit even including the KX3's on their SBRs, so the neophytes who browse their site wouldn't think it was some uber-cool, must-have accessory.
Noveske knows how to build an SBR that doesn't need a KX3, so why do they persist in pimping them on all their guns? Must be a high profit margin item...
It even says on their website that kx3's are made for sbr's.
I dont care how cool it looks, I just thought that they were designed specifically for the sbr. I would of thought that because of that you get better performance. I have never owned an sbr and this will be my first sbr build. So I am just trying to get a little information out of the guys who know what they are doing. What do you think about the battle comp black oxide flash suppressor?
I just did a little orange button reading and I want one even more now. They say that it actually suppresses sound. I don't care if it is only just a little bit, the m4 is a loud weapon.
The pig "redirects" sound at best. I tried one for a brief period and from the shooters perception, could not tell the difference in sound signature from a pws fsc-556 I was running along side it.
Remember, if sound signature is reduced at all, the BATFE then deems the device a suppressor and believe me when I tell you: you, I, nor the BATFE will say that the pig reduces sound. Save your money.
:suicide2:
Not enough barrel there to use a rifle gas, plus ur gun wouldn't get enough dwell time to be anything more than an expensive single shot AR.
i ran a Noveske KX3 on a 10.5 build. It not only made the gun more obnoxious, it also added way more weight out front.
I currently run a Battle Comp 1.0 on my 10.5, and couldn't be happier. Recoil/Muzzle climb is reduced, muzzle flash is reduced, and well there just isn't much u can do about sound.... The shorter the barrel the LOUDER it gets....
It's not going to reduce sound in the least bit, if it did the ATF would consider it a Supressor. The KX3 was designed to increase back pressure/dwell time (not needed in a 12.5 or any SBR with a proper gas port size) on short barreled rifles. It may direct the sound more forward but it sure as hell wont make it quieter.
If not using a supressor a battlecomp would be my first choice with any gun.
If shooting supressed, I'd put a muzzle brake on there. I'm going to put an AAC Brakeout on my 12.5 SBR when I build it.
