Why do you recommend the Ion bond finish over the regular? Are they more susceptible to cosmetic damage? I would prefer the rifle to stay all black.
Primarily aesthetics. The bare 410SS barrels are very shiny. If you are one who cares about giving up your position, then this might be an issue.

Totally cosmetic. I like my "black rifles".......black. ;)
Also, the ion-bond is supposed to make the surface harder and more corrosion resistant.

Could you maybe talk him into a 1/8 twist BFH, when I was looking at uppers I wanted BFH and 1/8 twist, decided to go with an SS410 for the twist rate.
