Recently opted to buy one of the KAC/MagPul special editions. Naturally a DI gun. It's very nice too.
That said, I got a few extra bucks so when it came to buy another rifle I went back to LWRC. This time an M6A2 SPR.
There customer service is great. I like spare parts for my weapons and getting them from LWRC is a website purchase away. KAC is a PITA to deal with in this regard. Wanted to pick up there PROPRIETARY E3 bolt and still can't get one.
To the OP, your instincts are correct, it is a high quality rifle and an excellent shooter. Piston guns are great. If they weren't, DoD wouldn't be moving that way.
