Has anyone completed (or know where I could find) a weight comparison between the CASV-M and comparable length DD and LaRue rails?
Thanks
Man, just what I need. Something else to spend my money on.........
That does look like a nice set up.
MM,
As always, very nicely done!
No provision for a standard FSB? Looks good though
have not shot these particular uppers (these are just for the vltor website), but have the same setup on one of mine and i'll shoot it in a couple of weeks. zeroing it is going to be no different than any other rail-mounted front sight. yes, an aimpoint in standard/low mount will co-witness, just like it does with the regular CASV. did you follow the link i provided in my first post with more pics and info?
Any updates on a release date for the CASV-M?
i believe they're about a week from shipping to dealers.
Thanks for the update, MM.
no prob. here's a pic of the CASV-M with standard FSB (midlength gas system):

Does anyone know who has this in stock in FDE color? Thanks.
G&R TACTICAL OR OUTDOOR SPEACIALTIES has them i think. I have one on my AR and love it. It gives you a free float barrel.
I just installed a CASV-S bi-level. I like the smaller profile of the handguards, but the mounting holes at 10:00 and 2:00 seem kind of useless. There isn't enough clearance for any accessory mount if you mount a rail there. The lower bi-level rail ends up being about 1/8" gap. I ended up punching out one of the rearward mounting holes and opening it up for a QD attachment point.
Doesn't the CASV-S have built in QD points on the right and left like the CASV-M and CASV-EL?
Only in the very front. I prefer my sling to pick up closer to the receiver in a 2-point setup.
Roadking, that I understand. My CASV-M has built in QD's on each side of the upperhalf, as does the CASV-EL. I was suprised to hear the the CASV-S does not.
Oh ok. Sorry.
Just to clarify, the CASV-S does have a built in QD attachment point, but it's been moved the front of the handguards. I prefer to mount my sling closer to the rear of the handguards so I punched out the nearest 10 o'clock screw mount and opened the hole up to the right size.
i have a BM optics ready carbine, would the CASVM fit over the gas block?
I think it will.
