I don't know except for product identification for the casual observer? But I suspect that for someone in the know, the unlogoed DD bolt and carrier that I bought from you can be ID'ed as Daniel Defense, not a counterfeit. And I suppose that's why DD now puts their 'DD' on the carrier. No doubt there is a deserved pride factor as well.
I didn't know you could easily remove the BCM logo, you'd think it would be pretty tough to remove or it wouldn't last on such a highly stressed part. Anyway, no problem here with the BCM logo, I love the company and buy from them and sure wouldn't remove their logo if I had bought their BCG!
Grant, now that would be fun to have a rifle with all the best names from the left of the Chart displayed prominently! ... Instead of what usually happens with low end mongrels getting BM, RRA, Oly, DPMS, UTG, etc. parts!

Product identification for the MANUFACTURER, DEALER and CONSUMER.
DD BCG's are VERY hard to spot and I could have easily sold you a XYZ and you wouldn't have known.
There are many issues that go on with dealer selling parts at gun shows, claiming them to be one thing and the consumer not knowing the difference.
On the flip side, a customer breaks a bolt (or whatever) and wants a warranty repair. If they (the manufacturer) did not mark them in some way, they maybe fixing someone elses issue.
So my question is three fold:
