One thing I've been looking for and found in the MFR is there isn't the clamp and helicoil/screw section in the way. This may not be a big deal to me but it's ugly and will sometimes stop the gun from fully hinging and opening up on the hinge pin.
DD needs to get some mountable QD studs and something for grip and texture or some thin/lightweight snap on rail panels.
2 Things.
1) I wish they had a very low pro QD sling attachment. I'm sure DD is probably working on a QD attachment device without having to put a whole section of rail and using a QD Rail attachment. I wonder what that's going to look like.
2) I was always under the impression that the DD MFR would be even slimmer than the Troy TRX. I am embarassed that I don't remember where I got it from but I thought that the DD MFR would have an even smaller circumference than the Troy Extreme TRX. I don't remember where I saw the stats but I swear to God I saw it that way. It wasn't by much, but it was maybe somewhere in the ballpark of 1.76" vs. 1.74". If anyone has the measurements officially from the manufacturers, I'd like to see them. That being said, the OP has shown that the Troy is slightly narrower....at least in his measurement.
How do they differ in terms of weight?
Looks like an nice product, as can be expected from DD. I wonder when DD will start offering LW uppers with MFR installed, that'll make me very tempted :)
