M4 with M855A1 is plenty. Add this to fact that direct fire right now is not the threat in most areas. I say avoid the hassle. Cost to benefit ratio is low. Unless you going for CDI.

Thank you, I was going to say the same thing. In addition it is my understanding that ITAR can still apply unless the items in question are official or unit issue.
Using anything proprietary in a combat zone without some type of support network is beyond stupid.
