Bought Aimpoint H1, put on 10/22, LOVE IT.... yes really

Oh MAN. I bought this for an AWESOME price. (Thanks Grant )

So, I wanted a GOOD red dot for my Ruger 10/22. My primary concern was something that had the lowest mount possible. I wanted to get the dot as close to the bore-line as i could.

After playing with this for a few weeks, I can honestly say, this thing is 15 different kinds of sweet. I highly recommend it to anyone.

What's wrong with mounting one of these on an AR or an AK74 that you'll be using for fun at the range?

Can you clarify your question? Where was it suggested that it was "wrong"?

WOW - usually my 10/22 get's demoted optics, as in a trickle effect from top-line on down. I currently have one of these on my 10.5" piston upper, my 10/22 is sporting an old Tasco PDP.

Definately, I would put on a 10/22 if I could afford it.

Sorry, I'm guessing this is one of the non-$400-$500 models. I believe it's the T-1 that people have been putting on their ARs (and maybe an AK I believe I saw.)

I saw a few of these on gunbroker and ebay for not much more than $100 at the time. Of course it was a silver target version.

I'm wondering if the different models are as different as a bushnell holosight and the Eotech or if there's a greater difference or what in particular makes them different.

ETA: Just looked and this IS the high dollar model... wow...

What is the difference what gun he puts his optic on? It IS removable, you know - he can put it on an AR or an AK later if he so chooses.

Perhaps he want to practice his trigger control and marksmanship - the money he spent on the optic is easily made up in ammo cost.

Chill please. I thought this was one of the really cheap models at first. That's why I thought he bought it for a 10/22. That led me to ask why the cheaper ones can't be used on an AR. When I found out it wasn't it wasn't the cheaper one I was surprised. That's all. Don't read too much into it.

True - I use an H1 with the LaRue mount. I personnaly don't like moving optics back and fourth, rezero, etc, but if I had the $$$ or time, what the hay, more power to you.

Hey.. your money.. but that would be the day a 10/22 sees a $500 Aimpoint on it...

I just bought a $50 Fakepoint to use on a AR with a .22 adapter kit...

If I could afford the $500 it would be on my primary gun..but hey.. as long as your having fun....
