Anyone know where to find a USGI Field Gauge (or similar) to check headspace WITHOUT disassembling the bolt? If I recall, the USGI version has a cutout for the ejector, but anything similar would work as long as I don't have to disassemble the bolt.

Check out this go/nogo set at Brownells. If you read the Q&A for 5.56x45 NATO set it says there is no need to remove the ejector.

Manson Precision gauges appear to have a cutout. Nevertheless the manufacturer doesn't believe in bolt disassembly for checking anyway. TOS thread says the cutout is for manufacture rather than function.

I figured I should give a 'shout out' regarding what I consider to be a really good deal on some FDE Rail Covers. I've been shopping around recently & come to the conclusion that they have really gone up in price since I last bought them a few years back. I just happened to check 'Optics Planet' to see what they had, & found what they referred to as a 'killer deal', & I guess I have to agree ! I got a 24 Pack of Troy Brand Picatinny Rail Covers, which consisted of 2x each of all the basic sizes for $25.00. Based upon what I've been finding, that's not bad at all. So, if anyone likes the Troy Rails, you should head to their Website. It looks like they had a few sets available, in both Black, FDE, & possibly other colors too, all at similar 'killer deal' prices.

Kinda stupid, but since CMP insists that Competition Legal AR's MUST have an A2 grip... anybody have any leads on an A2 in FDE or Coyote for less than ten bucks with reasonable shipping, or am I better off to just rattlecan one out of the parts bin?
