I completely agree. I opted for the longer handguard because it met my needs a little better. Even if I can get the Gear Sector mount to work, it may still impede use of the switchblock if I need the wrench. That thing gets pretty gummed up after 500 rounds if you don't move it at all.

No doubt. I rotate mine a few times after every time I shoot which is usually only like 100 rounds or so. Its not bad with the wrench, but not easy without it.

Wow can't believe I forgot to update this thread! Things changed quite a bit! Here it is now.

By the time my stamp came back the light shorty upper was on a good 60+ day estimated backorder so I was able to snag a new DD MK18 upper in the older less gaudy writing on it (not that it's about to matter anyway)
Also upgraded to a super dynamic c

As you can tell it has black furniture on it, couple things are going to evolve from here as well.

1: all the FDE furniture is getting done in a-tacs AU. And the receivers will be done the same or in patriot brown cerakote

2: vert grip getting changed out for a gear sector Handstop where te very grip is and a noveske k9 Handstop on the front

3: adding a Haley strategic thorntail sbr mount w/ a new FDE M300 in 200 lumen once it finally comes out!

4: AAC brake for the sr7 supressor if/when they finally start selling em(along with the supressor of course)

Also upgraded to a super dynamic combat trigger and 65° safety.

For optics I went a 2MOA aimpoint T1 on larue tall mount with noveske/Troy BUIS(that I want to trade for equivalent in FDE by the way)

Sweet build. I'm excited to see how the a-tacs furniture will look. Post a pic as soon as you get it! Who's doing the a-tacs for you?

    Looking gooood!

Looks like a Geissle trigger did make it into your package. Good choice!

Despite the opinions of some...a trigger is one of THE best accuracy improvements you can make. Especially when trying to make an SBR shoot (better) than most off the shelf long guns.
