Anybody under 30 carry a 1911?

All kinds of threads around here about moving away from the 1911 and this or that etc..

I carry a 1911 and love it.

So I'm curious, for anybody under 30 are we all just a flip flops and Glocks generation or do any of us "young'ns" carry a 1911?

I am a product of all the 80's and 90's action movies that are littered with 1911's and Berreta 92s but the 1911 always stood out to me.

I fall in the "flip flops and Glocks" generation but I may not follow the trend as I tend to train with and carry a 1911. Don't get me wrong I have Glocks but I have made a point to carry 1911s more and more.

Who else in my generation carries a 1911? The reason I make the point about being under 30 is that there is a good chance we all started shooting a tuperware gun and did not spend years shooting a 1911 first.

I started carrying one when I was 28... 17 years ago! Does THAT count?

Yeah, I went to respond to this thread, & say heck yeah, then realized I'm over 30 now. Ahh....the sobering moments...

"30" is a general range..I just chose 30 because I'm 29 and figured that was a good place to draw the line between growing up with steel or plastic. I assume most people around 30 started shooting plastic not steel especially if they didn't grow up shooting and just started shooting.

Yea I carry my cqb everyday, I'm 29 years old and have arrived a 1911 for 3 years now. My generation did grow up with different guns, and don't get me wrong I love my G19 and it's simplicity. But I prefer my 1911, I love the feel and it's ease to point, I guess it just comes down to who you learned from and what their preferences were, as that is how I got started on the 1911.
