Here are your options if you want to finish your lower right now. 1. Get this if you want to put the best LPK in the industry in your lower. http://www.specializedarmament.com/p...I-262-279.html 2. Get this if you don't want to get the first one. https://www.primaryarms.com/Daniel_D...p/dd-21007.htm Everything else is just everything else. Waiting for something, hoping it will be back in stock at a price you want it at is just pissing into the wind right now. Like "Larry The Cable Guy" says, "Getter Done" and move on to finish the build.

I'm one of those guys that's never had a bad experience with any lpk. I've used bushy, rra, and cmmg in the old days, and more recently dd, spikes, and colt. I've never had a problem.
I have noticed differences from one kit to the next, even in the same manufacturers, but never had any trouble.
This is just my experience though, so who knows what could happen?

If you'd have asked a week ago, you'd have gotten a different answer.

Cost aside - Colt with a Geissele SSA
Value - G&R or DD LPK with the ALG Combat Trigger (or GG2S if you want SSA like performance)

Otherwise - BCM Blemished complete lower, then add one of the above triggers as desired. The BCM trigger was the best stock one I've experienced (to include 5 various Colt issue M4's)... but that said, Gessele triggers are addictive, and the price of the ALG Defense units is too good to overlook if you just want a basic one.

DD, LMT, and BCM all have very solid LPKs (the G&R is a mix of the first two as far as I can tell - they're good stuff, but sourced from places like LMT that meets Grant's desired spec), and are priced pretty well.

CMT is the minimum standard I haven't had issues with - RRA I've had minor issues, and DPMS I have two that develop added 'features' like the ability to put weapons in safe with the hammer forward and such.

    Another Data Point

I've been cruising the threads, looking at opinions on LPKs, specifically trying to get opinions on the DD kit. Looking for something for a new build. After reading this thread, I wanted to talk about my experience with RRA, LMT, and Colt.

I used RRA with a two-stage trigger for my first build. No problems, pretty sweet trigger compared to single stage milspec. I've heard folks say the RRA will wear itself into functioning like a single-stage, but I haven't experienced any problems yet. I'll just replace it when I do.

My second AR is built on an LMT Defender complete lower - LMT parts. It has the smoothest selector I have ever felt, like butter. The bolt catch had a small casting remnant that I had to Dremel off to make it function properly. I think it slipped through their QA process. It has a single-stage LMT trigger, which feels fine to me.

My third, an SPR build, used RRA parts as well. After I put a MIAD grip on it, I could barely get the selector to rotate. Too much spring pressure on the detent, and the operating surface was machined too rough. Wanting to get the LMT feel, but not being able to get an LMT selector that is not ambi, I bought a Colt selector from Specialized Armament (nice folks, they threw in the Colt spring and detent as well). It solved the problem with the RRA selector, but was not as buttery smooth as the LMT. It has a Geissle DMR trigger that I LOVE. That's why I bought a Geissle SSA for my next build.

So, what's my conclusion? I really like LMT, but they don't sell LPKs. So, if that's what you want, you have to buy a complete lower or rifle. You can't go wrong with Colt, but it will cost you 250% more. Since I, like TehLlama, have an addiction to Geissle, that's the trigger group I will use. I haven't had many problems with LPKs, so my philosophy is to focus on quality on the parts I operate the most, aside from the trigger, the selector and the bolt catch for me. So, that's why I am waiting for G&R to get LPKs back in stock, since Grant's kits use LMT selectors and catches.

Others I would consider include Colt, CMT, High Standard (a Brownells guy in another thread said that Colt sources to them to fill parts needs at times Colt doesn't make them in-house), and DD.

I have one, and wouldn't hesitate to have him do another. Quick turn-around and quality work, plus save alot of $$$.

I would do some research on Bill Springfield's trigger work, there have been quite a few complaints lately.

If I were you I'd go with the ALG Defense QMS and add the rest of the needed parts..

    No, not so much.

Also, doing a 'trigger job' on GI parts is a recipe for failure. Get a match trigger if you want a better trigger pull.

Another vote for Colt. Have one in my personal gun, and every issued weapon hasn't had an issue.

PSA gets their CHF barrels from FN, which makes me think that they might be getting their LPK's from FN as well, since they're just down the street. I have no proof of this, it's pure conjecture on my part. Haven't heard of any problems with PSA LPK's though.

LMT makes outstanding stuff, but like others have said they don't sell them. Every LMT lower I've had or seen has been g2g.

Heard good things about DD and G&R's LPK's, but have no direct experience with them.

RRA, will never use them again. 2-stage trigger turned into complete shit after less than 1k rounds, selector switch felt like it had 4 detents on it, complete mush. Use at your own risk. Not saying they're all shit, but the one that I had was.
Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see.

Cant say it is the best since I have a poor data set to compare, but the G&R lpk I bought for my rifle has been rock solid.
