What's funny about it is I spent a half hour explaining to a coworker while they ran the paperwork why I was spending $400 more than the Bushmaster they had there. How it was a Colt and had better materials, qc, and all the right stuff. Then I get the one with a loose rail. I'm sure Colt will take care of it. Didn't notice until I put the VFG on it.
    Thanks for the help robb

This is why I trust no one and assemble or reassemble my own ARs. I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to me shooting my own guns but I "ain't right" but I don't think anyone can complain about what I've assembled using my choice of components.

Just got off the phone with colt. 3-5 months is what I was quoted. Think I'll just replace the rail.

Try completely removing the rail and re-installing. The possibility exists that the screws were strip-threaded and thus not tightening down all the way - I say this because Troy rails lock up pretty tight.

If that doesn't work, swap out the barrel nut.

    Is the barrel nut tight?

The rail hs been removed and reinstalled. Nothing is stripped. The barrel nut is tight. My next step is replacing the barrel nut. If that doesn't do it I'm replacing the whole rail. To me, it's not worth being without the gun for 3-5 months for colt to fix it.

Well that's complete BS. 3-5 months???? Way to stand behind your product Colt.

I shot the Colt 6720R this past week. A friend of mine bought one. Nice rifle, no problems with the rail moving or rotating. Included were 2 PMAGS, Magpul front and rear BUIS, the Magpul RVG. The Rogers stock was not for me but it seems solid and well built. It was what I expected from Colt. OP, I certainly hope your rail problem gets fixed sooner than 3-5 months. Do you mind me asking, at what point (round count) did the rail start to feel loose? Or was it loose out of the box? Thanks.

I'm actually not mad about it. It will get fixed and they offered to do it. Right now I am choosing not to because I don't want to be without it that long. I'm going to try replacing the barrel nut first. Then I may choose to replace the rail rather than wait.
Duece- it felt tight before I put the rvg on it, but I noticed right after that, and before shooting, the rail was loose. So unfired brand new.

I am not bad mouthing colt or Troy. I love the rifle. I shot in today and love it more. The rail being loose does bother me, and maybe they should hire more rifle smiths if they are backlogged that bad. But I guess if the nut doesn't fix it I'll replace the rail with a 10" C4.
