I just bought the same gun a few months ago and love it. The lower screws on the rail were lose on mine and needed to be tightend but my rail is sold and doesn't move. Glad you were able to get it fixed.

I would think that if this was dpms you would be told to sell that pos and get a colt. If I bought the rifle and something was wrong with it I would expect to have it fixed asap. Im from the standpoint that its how you treat your existing customers, not cranking things out and mistreating them. I have had an issue with a bcm I bought and it was resolved within a week. I am not sure how one could love something that has to be rigged to make it proper. 3-5 months should be exceptionally long considering its new, I would be pissed that i dropped 1200-1300 dollars and had to wait that long for them to make it right. But I can almost guarantee that I will probably get reprimanded for saying this but oh well. It's not a knock on colt because all companies put out some bad shit from time to time but it seems that the pet companies get more excuses and I for one don't find that to be helpful. Something screwed up is screwed up no matter who makes it and should be treated as such and resolved in an acceptable amount of time.

    Big +1.

Also, doesn't the battlerail use a "Special" barrel nut with grooves on it to keep the rail from rotating?

You should try contacting Troy ind. If anything, they should at least try to help. Might be an out of spec rail?

It's ok I just received a warning due to sayin that a certain brand magazine didn't seat on a closed bolt but other than that it ran pretty flawless. Honest opinions aren't welcome around here more recently

Why all the pantie banter the OP is happy with a defect so why give a shit.
    Sounds like a rail issue.

Rail issue or not it's a colt issue since its an assembled rifle from them. I don't understand the logic in having to rig something up from the factory to make it correct. It's colts issue and should be put squarely on their back and no matter if the op is fine with it or not shouldn't matter, what matters is that something that comes out the factory like that should be made right no matter who did, and it should be treated as such. Not made excuses and deflected to another company or the operator being content with something defective. 3-5 months would cause me to get a refund and purchase another rifle from another reputable company who appreciates my hard earned money. That goes for who ever it is. Imagine buying a new car and the thing won't make right turns. Is it ok that I'm fine with planning my routes to just go left until almost a half year later till they could fix my problem. I have nothing against colt, they make a great product. I don't personally own one but all I have seen have been top notch. Wrong is not relative....it's wrong
