    Exclamation N TX Members check-in (tornadoes/wide-spread destruction)

There are a dozen or so members who frequent this sub-forum who live in the N TX region, just want to check and see how everyone held up. Status updates and the like.

Today DFW was hit by a massive line of super cells that produced multiple tornadoes arcoss the region.

At this time I believe Arlington is the hardest hit, the mayer has declared a state of emergency that is supposed to last the next seven days. So far power is up and running in most places as is water/sewage. Some other areas were hit with baseball size hail stones. DFW International has cancelled just about all flights. At this time I have not heard of any road/highway closures.

I was down at USMD Arlington when the sirens went off. They put us all in between the elevators. Nothing happened but got me thinking I didn't have a any paracord, flashlight or good knife on me. Guess I need to stock up my tool bag just in case.

Here is some pretty good video of a rain clad funnel cloud hitting a trucking depot (S Dallas) and tossing the tractor trailers around like an angry five year old would his toys.

Edit: Now getting reports of twelve different tornadoes touching down today throught the region. Multiple cities/counties effected.

    Still alive.

One of the guys in my office just moved out of his old house in Cleburne, which he is trying to sell. That might be tough now since part of its roof is gone. 30 minutes after that happened his wife took a pic of another goddamn funnel cloud less than a mile from their new house.

    Pretty nasty all around.

Just found out that two of our officers were loaned out to Lancaster, calls of looting going on down there.

All is well at our place. Soent some time with the Monkeys down in the storm shelter as it looked pretty "interesting" this afternoon, but luckily just rain.

DH is on Genny Patrol with his employer tonight on a call-out, possibly down to Lancaster area.

I got an activation notice from CERT, (Community Emergency Response Team) to deploy to Lancaster last night. Guess they need warm bodies on the ground for debris pick up. Four years with CERT and my first activation...

All is well in Princeton. The crap that hit Greenville just missed us. All we had was some power flickers, heavy rain, lightning, and a pissed off German Shepherd(she does not like thunder). I checked with Viperashes as he is in the area too, all was well with him. Have a good one ya'll and be safe.
    Words from a wise man:

People often believe that it is better to NOT learn from someone more experienced than them BECAUSE there might me a SMALL chance that they could find a better option on their own.

How can someone believe the above? Simple. Ego. They believe in the bottom of their soul that they are the "best" at everything (even though they are brand new to something).
