The the increase in price earlier in the week when I was looking as upper thinking of buying another for a build and trying to decide on what I was wanting to do. I can honestly say my thought was along the lines of "Oh hell another $30 for me to build the upper, whoppedy frick." Considering everything else if my cost to build a BCM upper goes up only that much then I am not overly concerned. Still a better deal then what I can get local since the only uppers I can find in stores of POS DPMS uppers for $500 and guys trying to sell used colt upper without BCG for $600-700. Though if I hadn't just bought a BFH BCM Middy last month the SR15 Upper that came up on a local forum for a grand might have found its way into my gun safe.

    Prices rose again.

I see that BCM's prices went up again today.
The BCG was $159.00 this morning and when I checked this afternoon to see if any were in stock they are now listed at $179.00

If I could ever get an upper and a BCG. I have a lower that is a registered SBR that I got the paper work back in early December, but I still lack the upper and BCG.

You waited months for your tax stamp and didn't gather up the parts you needed?

Increased demand = increased cost until supply = demand.

With what is happening, this is the way it is. Costs do up for the guys making it, they have to pass it on to stay in business.

I want as many companies to stay in business as possible. The "Golden Age of the AR-15" needs to keep going.

I imagine Paul has his crew working quite a bit of overtime.
BCM doesn't have hundreds if employees at its disposal.

Fundamental principle of Capitalism, the price = whatever the market will bear. This is a good thing; it encourages risk taking and entrepreneurship, the bedrocks of America.

    Plus BCM rocks!

Raise prices on parts that are unavailable? This panic buy will test the strength of gun companies big and small.

    Good luck to them all.
Well with the exception of Hesse

Summer 2010, the BCM standard FSB uppers were "on sale" for $385, XM193 was ~$300 per case, and gasoline was $2.80/gallon.
