Non-QD 30mm Aimpoint mounts

I'd like to hear from people that have and use non-throwlever/QD mounts for their legacy Aimpoints with 30mm tubes. If you're using a single conventional scope ring, please specify height and whether it's giving you and absolute, lower 1/3, or some other co-witness.

Can you post a picture of yours? I can't seem to find any.

From what I can tell it doesn't really gain me much since it's the same size as the throwlever mount and only $25 less, but I may be missing something...

Yep, I have several of the Larue Aimpoint mounts.

Call me old fashioned, but I still want to be able to remove a dead optic in the field, w/o tools. Which means I'm mostly using the lever mounts.

The only VFZ mount I have is on the Larue BUIS, since I'm not anticipating ever needing to remove the rear sight in the field.

so you don't have a 30mm Aimpoint mount with the VFZ system?

Would you agree, based on your rear sight, that it does not reduce bulk by much, and that the $25 savings going from the lever to the VFZ on the Aimpoint mount is not worth it?
