I cant really add much except to add that my rifle is great. I got it mostly as a tribute piect to my service, but I would have no qualms about it being GTG.

Honestly i dont think colt is an option. I really dont want an hbar and i REALLY dont want to buy a 1200$ rifle then swap out the barrel or have it lightened!

I did see rock river makes an a4 but based on information gleaned from lurking here i dont think theynwould be a good option and are pretty close in price to bcm anyway.

Now they just need to get them in stock somewhere!

I think we can all agree anything with BCM etched on it is reeking of quality - regardless of the configuration, gas system, barrel length, or any other factors.

This also seems to be the only bolt that would work in the gun, too (although I am not sure). Moreover they had a block installed in the lower to keep them from possibly going full auto. Although this may not be a big deal, I really don't want to feel gun has been tampered with too much from its original most effective design.

    BCM won't have that problem.

If you see a Colt you like that's a 20" open it up and see if it's the real deal.
You're probably looking at much older colts. Most all colts on the market now have FA BCGs, .155 trigger/hammer pins, and no longer have the hardened steel sear blocks. I'm sure there still may be some older ones floating around. The only real thing to contend with would be recountoring the barrel and the 20" match target doesn't have a threaded muzzle so that would have to be addressed.

When it's all said and done, my opinion, for what it's worth. Grab a bcm 20" w/ a bcg and GF charging handle and throw it on an a2 LMT lower and call yourself good to go.

I would say go with the BCM and dont look back. My first personally owned AR was Colt, I love it and will never get rid of it or stop shooting it - but all of my future rifles with likely be BCM. Their products are top notch and they have a much wider variety to choose from than Colt does. What is not to love?

X2.. I have a new MT6700 and there's nothing weird (non standard Colt) about it. I wanted the HBAR 20", so that wasn't an issue for me. I'd love to have a Bravo as well.. Ron
