Surefire Forend Light (Benelli M4?)

I apologize if this should go in the light forum but figured this would be the best place since modifications may be necessary.

I have a Benelli M4 and would like to get a light on it without the use of rails or barrel clamps. Surefire markets the Benelli model for the Super 90 but if I recall correctly this would not fit the M4. Does anyone here understand what is different on the M4 that would preclude using the Surefire forend for the Benelli on it?

The way the fore end on a M1 and M4 Benelli attaches is totally different... apples and oranges.

Thanks, all I needed to know. Haven't handled an M1 so didn't know if there was much if any of a difference. Have a good one.
