    protection dogs

Dont know if this is the correct section for this topic but I didnt see any better options. I'm considering purchasing a personal protection trained dog and wondered if any of you guys have any experience with this? Recommended companies to work with etc. There are so many different options out there. Thanks

i hear great things about worldwidecanine.

i dont own one but eventually will. they have great reviews and even have dogs in the For Sale section that are available now instead of waiting for training.

Malis are top notch. They are quite a handful though.

This is mine at 7 months...

On a related note.. If you end up getting one, make sure you get a decent collar/harness. Avoid collars in particular with plastic male and metal female Side Release Buckles, they will fail after short use. Harnesses often use redundant D rings and do not stress their SRBs so components there tend to matter much less. Like slings, collars are very easy to make yourself and I cannot recommend getting some webbing, stainless steel triglides and a small Cobra buckle enough. This gear will see endless abuse. Dont cheap out on it. Let me know if you need links to sources for webbing and hardware. Its cheaper than complete products and often better.

Edit: And heres my 9 month GS/Mali. Great running partner, too.

    Malinois

Didn't the SEALs take a Malinois with them on the Bin Laden raid?
