    Aftermarket vs Glock OEM longslides?

Has anyone used any of the aftermarket Glock 17L slides? I am torn between getting a 17L slide and bbl for a gen 3 G17 or just buying a factory 17L. It appears Caspian no longer offers their longslides.

Anything I need to be wary of with the other brands?

    Thanks!

PM "COLD" (the Mod for the Competition Forum) he has a pretty slick longslide Glock that I handled recently, and I would be interested to hear about it.

It never even occurred to me that they still made/sold the 17L. I don't know that I've seen one actually being shot in years since the 34 came out.

GT Distributor's in Dallas got a new run of 17Ls and 24s a few months back. I was pretty surprised when they told me.

For the past several years Glock has been producing limited runs of the G17L. They're generally not advertised by Glock other than by their continued inclusion in their catalog.

Yeah, I ordered a 17L for a buddy recently. The wholesaler told me they are VERY limited in production run and only come around once a year...

What a coincidence this thread came around.
I have REALLY been wanting a G17L for awhile now. Ive actually looked around for some kind of reviews or opinions...they are scant.
Whats the word on these for accuracy/reliability?
Anyone ever do any chrony work with these?

I haven't shot one, but I do like the balance when dry firing. I have found a couple for sale (NIB), but they go for $600+. The KKM bbls are only $165, but I don't know whose aftermarket slides (if any) are good enough to warrant throwing them on a G17.

I'll drop a PM to Cold. Thanks for the tip.

Cold's is very skeletonized and thus very light weight and his trigger was metal. I forgot the manufacture.

17L and the 24s are only manufactured every two years according to glock. 2011 was the last manufacturing year so we won't see them produced again until 2013
