    Smith and Wesson 29-6

On the motorcycling forum I'm a member of I usually hate these threads, but there are places like NADA and KBB for vehicle values. Gun values seem harder to find.

But long story short, How much do you think this S&W 29 is worth? http://www.armslist.com/posts/379765...-wesson-44-mag

I'd like a 44 as a side arm for bear hunting, and if I can get this at a reasonable price I'd like to pick it up.

    Thanks in advance!

It may well be if it is still in time doesn't have too much end shake. The finish doesn't suggest it has been given any TLC however.

I have a 4" in stainless I'm looking to offload, PM me if you're interested.

I'm sure someone can elaborate a little more eloquently than I, but endshake as I understand it develops after a diet of magnum rounds which elongates the frame slightly and causes the cylinder to slide back and forth on the crane which can cause light primer strikes and misfires as well as degrade accuracy. There are washers available to fix this or S&W usually can do it for free if you're willing to wait for them to do so.
