Take your own rifle, set the tape measure so it's 8.5 at the back of the receiver as it is in the above photo, then extend it so you can see what it would measure to at the face of the trigger. That will tell you what the LOP would be on your rifle with that setup

    The UBR technically does neither.
I've read this statement on this site before. I believe it was from the same poster, I tend to agree with the fact that the UBR doesn't "fold or telescope," I have the older Magpul M93 and the newer Ergo F93. Neither "fold" or "Telescope". Why do we constantly think we can be prosecuted for following the law.

You can play the semantics game in your head all you want, but get caught and make no mistake you will be arrested and charged. You will pay thousands of dollars in legal fees and in all likelihood end up with a felony conviction. The State may not be going out of its way to answer specific questions about the UBR's legality right now, but rest assured that when there is a case on the table they will. Do you want to be the one to test your theory?

Just because the stock collapses and extends out of plane with the receiver extension means nothing. It may not fit your narrow definition of "telescoping" but the DA will argue (and win) that it does indeed count.

You and I agree I'm sure that the law is bullshit. I'm not throwing away the one life I have to live just to make a point. Not that I would never do such a thing, but if I did it wouldn't be by going to jail over a collapsible stock.

Those are facts? How many of these convictions have we had in ban states?............How many arrests? Call it rhetorical, I don't want to get further into it. Sorry.

I said if you get caught. Then, I asked do you want to be the one to test your theory?

You can run an illegal rifle in New York State for 10 years and not get caught. Does that mean you won't ever get caught, or that it's a good idea to do so?

Some people smoke cigarettes their whole lives and die of old age cancer free. Does that mean that if I smoke a pack a day I won't get lung cancer at 35?

You take that gamble if you want to.

I read it all, with care and precision. I just disagree with you about the legality of the stocks. I think you have a broad definition of telescoping. That's all.

Well I wish you were right, honestly. And more importantly, even if you ARE right, I wish there was a way to prove it without having to go to trial. Because right now, the only way we're going to get a no BS answer that we can be 100% certain of is if somebody gets charged and tried.

MistWolf's suggestion sounds like it'll give you a good idea of the LOP. If you'd like me to still measure I can, just won't have a chance to until next weekend. I believe the stock was exactly 8.5" measured across the top of the stock with the A2 buttplate pictured. With the buttplate that came with the entry stock it's 1/4" shorter.
