I'm just happy that one can go to sites like BravoUSA or G&R etc and find all the good stuff without being at the mercy of a given LGS.

There was a thread going on with a bunch of back slapping about how the guys could get "$479 bottom dollar ar's"

I tried to spread a little truth and immediately became the target. The worst comments were deleted, but suffice it to say that not only was I personally attacked and called names, but my upbringing was questioned and my parents were called out as well...ridiculous.

Seems like the public at large likes ignorance.

    I read it . . .and. . . BRAVO good Sir!

I'm gonna read it for shits & giggles, but from experience, state-specific firearm forums are the FUDD-iest sites there are. Ask me about PA's...

Since when is RRA "junk"? I am not saying it is as high quality as Colt, but I have RRA upper and it looks and works great.

Original poster: Been there done that. We all get frustrated but it's best to just ignore them an politely walk away. Or look around the shop. I have a local shop that's the same exact way. I was looking at a 6920 an he told me if you want the best. ...RRA .
I politely smiled put the 6920 down an bought some ammo.

When rock river deliberately choose to use lesser quality materials and manufacturing processes to save a buck. There is no excuse in my mind for these type of companies, the information is out there to make a quality rifle, but its only about the all powerful $.

I think the word "junk" is being misused here.

Bare with my analogy here, most everyone would agree Lexus is a high quality nice vehicle brand. Nissan's are also nice and have great quality. Comparing the Lexus to the Nissan does not make the Nissan "junk" just because it is not as nice as the Lexus. Something that is junk in my mind is poor performing and of poor quality. Everyone I know who owns a RRA is completely satisfied and has no problems. Does this make it as nice as a Colt? No, but it doesn't make it junk either no matter how much the sales people may rub you the wrong way.

IMO its hard to compare a gun to a car.

I drive a Chevy Cobalt, it cost me $12,000 vs. a higher brand car that will cost $36,000

its far easier to save up a few hundred dollars to get better quality than it is to afford an extra $20,000

Agreed. Maybe my analogy wasn't the best, but the point is RRA is not "junk". They receive great reviews and I know from personal experience they perform well. Junk is a harsh word.
