It is a stainless Series 80. Nelson put an ambi safety on it for me.
He also ask you if I could get a longer trigger for it on my behalf.

He showed me the work you had done on the trigger bar. Outstanding.
I canned the idea of installing the longer trigger that I had purchased to have Nelson install after seeing yours out of the gun.

LEO out on the east coast had you build it but his department went to 9MM in the meantime. I picked it up fresh out of your shop.

No picture capability at this time.

I would sure like to hear someone with some metallurgy background expand on the MIM issue. I can't quote any sources because it has been way too long since I followed the MIM issue in guns, but, I was under the impression that the MIM technology today and the parts that are made by the MIM process that are used in the Pro makes MIM a complete non-issue.

I am running a CQB Elite right now and I don't think it has any MIM parts.
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

Modern and well made MIM parts are fine for low tension/stress parts. For example, HK uses high quality MIM in their polymer framed pistols with extraordinary durability and service life.

It is true that the PRO uses some MIM parts including: slide stop, firing pin stop, mag catch, and disconnector. I've heard of no systemic issues with these parts, nor have I experienced issues with either of my two PRO's.

Having said that, the current rendition of the CQB is probably a more refined gun. I'd have no problems carrying the CQB into harm's way.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

I cannot recommend Wilson Combat enough. I have an X Tac and am very very happy with my choice at this point. After the first few hundred rounds this gun runs like a dream. At this point my round count is around 3,700 rounds of various FMJ and 150 rounds of 230gr. gold dot JHP.

I also wanted to add that I don't think you could go wrong with either company. In my opinion when you buy a Wilson Combat 1911 you get a gun that gets a higher level of attention when it is made and put together. You also get a 1911 which uses top shelf components right off the bat. As long as you spec the gun the way you want it when you buy it there is nothing you'll need to change or add with the exception of regular maintenance items.

With Springfield you also get world class customer support and an amazing custom shop. One of my buddies used their services for his SA GI and the results were unreal. Both companies are awesome and have excellent CS.

Owning both I can say there's other differences which would govern my decision than mim. CQB will have a high cut FS and 30lpi vs the standard frame Pro with 20lpi. Ambi on the Pro and an option on the CQB. Fixed tritium 3 dot on the Pro and several options on the Wilson. CS is great with both SACS and Wilson.
